The Closing Ceremony of the Late Sri Ramesh Prasad Goenka Memorial Trophy Under-15 Knockout T20 Cricket Tournament unfolded on the serene morning of 16th November 2025 at the Asansol Sports Academy, organised in collaboration with the Lakshmi Ratan Shukla Bangla Sports Academy and supported by Delhi Public School, Asansol. A sense of pride and fulfilment filled the air as players, coaches, guests and parents gathered to celebrate the culmination of an enthusiastic sporting journey. The event was graced by distinguished personalities including Ex-Cricketer of Bengal, Mr. Abhijeet Ganguly; Ex-Cricketer and Umpire, Mr. Krishnendu Dey; Mrs. Indrani Mishra Pradhan Ethora; Ex-Cricketer, Mr. Diptendu Mahta; Mr. Kamalendu Mishra; and Cricket Secretary of the District Sports Association, Mr. Dibyendu Dutta. The officiating team comprised Umpires Mr. Gautam Goswami and Mr. Partho Das, with Scorer Mr. Shubham Mondal. This solemn beginning was followed by a graceful cultural presentation of music and dance by the students of DPS Asansol. A thrilling finale unfolded as LRS Bangla Sports Academy clinched the Sri Ramesh Prasad Goenka Memorial Trophy 2025–26, securing prize money of ₹75,000 for their remarkable triumph over Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata. Their formidable total of 223 runs in 19 overs with the loss of 5 wickets sealed a memorable victory. Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata emerged as the runners-up, receiving ₹50,000 for their spirited performance. In the list of honours, Ambuj Pratap Singh of LRS Bangla Sports Academy was recognised as the Best Fielder, Gourav Yadav was named the Best Bowler for his magical spells, Niloy Chakraborty of Mohammedan Sporting Club was honoured as the Best Batsman and Ilan Ahmed of LRS Bangla Sports Academy received the Man of the Match award. The Honourable Pro Vice Chairman of DPS Asansol, Mr. Pratik Goenka, addressed the gathering with heartfelt reflections on the role of parents, especially fathers, in shaping the aspirations and character of his children. He spoke of a father’s quiet dream—to see his children surpass him, grow stronger, rise higher and become better versions of themselves—a sentiment that deeply resonated with the gathering and added a meaningful dimension to the ceremony. The esteemed Principal of DPS Asansol, Ms. Vineeta Srivastava, expressed heartfelt pride in witnessing young players uphold the spirit and values envisioned by Late Sri Ramesh Prasad Goenka.
